Project: residential | Year: 2020 | Location: Brescia, Italy | Area: 110 sq m
Located in the greenery of a residential area of Brescia, the private attic enhances the main natural elements and materials and contaminates them with contemporary volumes, inspired by the materiality and essentiality of the forms.
From the total demolition of the internal partitions and floors, a careful interior work has given a new configuration to the internal distribution of the spaces, providing for the installation of the latest generation technological systems and the replacement of all the coverings.
Designed to blend the variable heights of the sloping roof with the client’s needs, the layout includes a large open space to accommodate the entire living area, a bedroom with a walk-in closet, a bathroom and a small private studio.
The chromatic choice was carefully evaluated on the amount of natural light that enters every day from the low windows and skylights, which allow you to “breathe” the outdoors.
The internal walls have been kept in a high percentage in white, to create a light and delicate whole, with exposed beams and stone on the floor, which enhances its brightness. A few pieces approach the space, which interrupt the candid colors with incursions of black and gray, accents of Navy blue velvets, which cover curtains and cushions, and shiny touches of stainless steel elements.
To underline the dark-colored geometries, the custom-made bookcases in black metal, inserted inside pre-existing niches, become the focus point of the living area, raising the strong character of the planning. References of the same metal also in the lights or in the furnishing and decoration elements.
Design pieces, sculptural details, minimalist geometric shapes, authentic materials such as glass and marble act as a trait d’union between the various environments.
